2017 So Far…

FoxMarketW7 has been busy so far this year.

January: In January we were mentioned quite a few times in the Queen of the Suburbs Guide to Local Makers as many of our fabulous crafters were included in the guide including Wilde and Sinclair (cards), Bottlebee (jewellery), Handmade in Ealing (chocolates), Timshel Designs (furniture) and Denalis (jewellery and cards). See the guide here: http://queenofthesuburbs.org/ealing-makers

February: In February we launched our Instagram account @foxmarketw7. Running parallel with our Twitter account (@FoxMarketW7), the Instagram account posts FoxMarketW7 updates, info on traders and lovely photos of Hanwell and Ealing.

March: In March we began another season of markets at The Fox pub in Hanwell. The first market of the year is always exciting as regular stallholders meet up again after the winter break while also welcoming new traders. There were lots of new stallholders at our March market including Phoebe, who as Unicorn Jack, designs charming cards. We have a feeling Phoebe is destined for great things!

Also new to FoxMarketW7 were artisan food sellers Tastes of the Mediterranean who sold the most delicious olives, vinegars and pasta.

Phoebe also joined us at out first ever indoor popup event, The Wandering Fox Fair, held at Hanwell Community Centre, a listed building set within parkland that featured in a number of films and used to be home to Charlie Chaplin. The Wandering Fox Fair took up two rooms and showcased the best local crafters and vintage sellers.

We were joined by Hanwell-based jeweller Annie Darlasson who specialises in Art Deco inspired pieces made from vintage French lucite and sterling silver. Annie makes the most stunning creations and has featured in Tatler magazine.

It was also lovely to catch up another local jeweller, Seena, who as Bottlebee, designs the most gorgeous wedding rings and has appeared in Brides Magazine.

As well as jewellery, there were mouth-watering Easter chocolates on sale from local chocolatier Handmade in Ealing, candles from Luckie Scents Candles plus stationery and textile art by self-taught artist Apis Studios.

The fair was really successful and was a lovely celebration of the talent to be found in west London. We hope to host another Wandering Fox Fair later in the year.

A few weeks after The Wandering Fox Fair, FoxMarketW7 returned to The Fox pub for what proved to be the hottest day of the year so far. We were joined for the first time by local artisan furniture maker Chris from Timshel Designs, maker of the iconic Toby chair. The chair is not only handmade (and extremely comfy!), but also manages to combine style with sustainability.

The next FoxMarketW7 event is at The Fox on 13th May 1-5pm. Hope to see you there…
